Institute of Mathematics "Simion Stoilow" of the Romanian Academy (Bucharest) and the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Bucharest University, in cooperation with the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Ovidius University, Constanta, will organize the 21st National School on Algebra, September 2-6, 2013, Bucharest, Romania. The topic of the school is "Algebraic Methods in Combinatorics".

The lectures will take place in the "Miron Nicolescu" Hall at IMAR, groundfloor. They will be complemented by tutorials and exercise sessions. The conference aims at introducing students and young researchers to new areas of research in combinatorial commutative algebra. Topics include: an overview of Stanley-Reisner theory, combinatorics of hyperplane arrangements, the use of exterior algebra methods, binomial edge ideals, monomial ideals with extra combinatorial structure.

Arrival date is Sunday, September 1st. Lectures will take place from Monday, September 2nd, to Friday, September 6th.
